The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SD DOT) is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for a proposed extension of South Dakota Highway 79 (SD 79) near Sturgis. SD DOT is considering alternatives that would provide a new highway connection from SD 34 east of Sturgis to Interstate 90 southeast of Sturgis.
